Wine & Gastronomy

Taste Slovenia at its finest

Private cellar visits, Michelin-starred dining, exceptional local producers and bespoke culinary journeys.

For its size, Slovenia is disproportionately rich in wine and food. Slovenia's renowned wine regions, Michelin-starred kitchens and producers who appear on no list at all, all within an hour or two of each other.

That makes choosing harder, not easier. We build a route that actually works: the right cellars for the season, tables that show as full online, and the transport that makes a wine pairing a non-issue.

The wine regions

Brda, Vipava, Karst and Styria

Each Slovenian wine region has its own character: Brda and the Vipava Valley are Mediterranean, the Karst is Teran and bora wind, Styria is white-wine country on steep hills.

We arrange private tastings with growers we know, give them notice, and make sure someone is there who can tell the story rather than simply pour the glass.

Exceptional tables

Starred restaurants, and the ones without stars

The Slovenian dining scene is small and the best tables go weeks ahead, particularly at weekends and in season.

We book, pass on dietary requirements and arrange the drive back where it helps. Where it makes sense we will also point you to an inn with no star that cooks better than several that have one.

When the best table is your own

For stays in a villa, chalet or private residence we arrange a chef who comes to you, from a single dinner to several days of service.

That includes the shopping, shaping the menu around what you actually like, and leaving the kitchen as if nothing had happened.
